Nicole Pamme

Key Scientist

Dr. Nicole Pamme obtained her PhD in microfluidic analytical chemistry from Imperial College London (UK) under supervision of Prof. Andreas Manz, where she investigated on-chip laser light scattering detection for counting and sizing of particles with application to particle based immunoassays. She also developed an on-chip separation method for magnetic particles. Following her PhD, Dr. Pamme worked as an independent research fellow at the National Institute for Materials Science (Japan). Here she extended her work to the separation of biological cells and the investigation of bioreactions on plugs of magnetic particles. In 2005, Dr. Pamme was appointed as a lecturer at the University of Hull, where she now supervises a team of 2 PhD students and several Master students. Her research is focussed on analytical and bioanalytical chemistry within microfluidic devices. She has authored 10 peer reviewed papers in the area, two review papers and has co-authored two textbooks.
