Role of the coordinator and coordinator procedures

The project will be coordinated by CNR-INFM-NNL, Lecce (Ross Rinaldi) with the collaboration of the SC committee. The main task of the coordinator is to represent the Consortium and to defend the activity of each partner in front of the Commission. Within the Consortium, the coordinator has the duty to coordinate and monitor the research performed by the partners, to encourage the flow of information among them and to summarize the results from the partners in interim and final reports. The coordinator needs to organize annual project meetings and a workshop on “Radiochemistry on chip” at the end of the project with the support of the SC.
On the other hand, the coordinator has also to administrate the budget and to distribute the EU grant among the participants helped by a financial administrator affiliated with NNL. To appropriately play his part, the coordinator must be regularly upgraded by the WP leaders on the progress of each individual scientific task, thus monitoring the progress of all research activities and eventually re-planning or re-focussing the research strategy.
An efficient communication among partners is the key issue of the project and it will be reached by exchanging data and discussing the results by e-mail using an internal mailing list and organizing periodic meetings in turn at each partner’s site.
Another tool that will be employed for increasing the interaction level between all the partners is a website, which will be created and continuously updated. One section of this website will be reserved to the partners and will contain confidential data and information on the progress of the project, milestones, deadlines and a forum or message board for improving communication and free exchange of ideas. The website will have also the task of connecting the consortium to the external world. For this reason a section of the website will be accessible to anyone interested in learning about the ROC project and radiochemistry. The main project targets, a description of the laboratories and staff involved will be presented and the open position available in the frame of the project continuously upgraded. The SC composed by the task leaders will actively contribute to the work of the coordinator for these activities.
