WP 2: Fabrication of microfluidic devices for on-chip reactions and separations
WP leader:
CNR-INFM-NNL -
Valentina Arima
This WP is entirely dedicated to the fabrication of each module of the final microfluidic device. Due to the wide field of activities embodied into WP2, many objectives have been identified. First of all, materials compatible with radiochemistry are chosen and strategies for working them developed. Then micro channels of geometries suitable to increase mixing efficiency of fluids are designed and fabricated. Micro electrodes and micro heaters for implementing high temperature reactions and solvent exchange operations need to be integrated into the devices. The micro reactors produced within this WP have to be tested in WPs3-6. Multi channels arrays for achieving capillary electrophoresis and chromatographic separations are also fabricated and tested during WP4-5. All the modules of the device fabricated have to be modified according to the necessities of the users as indicated in their specific WPs.
